webfldrs.msi - Keeps installing

J

John R. Hale

I am running windows 2k with office 3k, and everytime I
login to a virgin server (one I've never logged in to
before) from terminal services, I get the message that I
must now reboot the server for installation to be
complete.

I then look at the event viewer to find what causes this
mallady, and it indicates the "webfldrs.msi" has installed
successfully. It wouldnt be a big concern if it happened
once or twice, but all the time on servers I don't yet
have a "profile" on. So I have a couple of questions.

1. how can I stop this from happening?
2. how and where is it attached to my profile?
3. what is webfldrs.msi - I've looked on the web and it
doesn't give a clear description, just that it repairs the
state of webfldrs whatever that is.....

Any assistance would be appreciated.

thanks.

Well, this sounds like a goofed up office install or possibly a service pack
for the OS. This MSI has been used a bunch by people looking to repair their
web folders views after certain products/or SPs were installed.

Anything deployed recently?

No but I have office 2003 full ver on windows 2000 pro.
Not sure why it associates with my profiles on servers....
