Web pages take ages to open

Hi guys,
I Windows Xp SP2 and updated, IE6 SP2. When I first go onto the net and open
URL's I have no problems with them opening. After awhile 10 minutes of
browsing, it takes absolutely ages for pages to open, I have reverted to
refreshing them some 10/20 times to try and get them to open, in the end I
reboot and start again, it is driving me nuts. I have and constantly delete
the cookies in the Temp internet folder, delete the files as well, including
offline content. I have limited the Temp internet files folder to disk
space of 200 MB. Still does not solve my problem. Looking for any help
and ideas in solving this problem, before I resort to formatting the drive
and reinstalling window.
Your help is welcome and appreciated
Thanks and Regards
Bob

Hi,

Like Frank, I think it's a malware problem. But I'd also reduce even more
the maximum size of the cache. Mine is set to 1 MB, and that's just fine
when one has a fast connection...

Hi Guys,
scanned for Malaware using Spybot S & D, also Ad aware, found
nothing, reduced the cache to 1Mb, but still have to keep refreshing upto 10
times to get the URL to load. Is there anyway I can uninstall IE6 and Re
install it?
Thanks guys for your help

Bob

I have the same problem and I did have virus which I cleaned both
manually and with F-Secure: w32.stration.ac@mm
