WD Update problem

Hi,

When I say check for updates it says following updates were not installed

Definition Update 1.14.1408.8 for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597)

Had to download a later build (1347) of WD to update definitions.

on 1327

Hi, Thanks for the response,
I just downloaded a fresh copy of WD, reinstalled it & my problem is solved.
But I still have problem installing WD on another machine running win 2000
sp4.
When I try to install it says
"Service Win Defend failed to start.Verify that you have sufficient
privileges to start system services."
I am not able to figure out this problem.I had posted the same question
around a month back but no one gave me satisfactory answer.
Can someone tell me whats causing this problem?

Just go to the WD download page

and download WindowsDefender.msi after the validation. Then go through the
installation again by running the downloaded file.

Run Windows Update and get "Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 Service Pack 4".
After a Restart you should be able to install WD.

I am not able to install updates.I tried windows update today but all the
updates fail to download.What can I do to get them donloaded.

I don't know why Update is failing but you can download the file without
using Update by going to the website listed below:

I downloaded the file going to the link you mentioned. It has been installed
successfully & I was able to install win defender.
