Windows Defender update

I have already entered my problem in the Italian/Security Newsgroup, but it
was suggested to post it also here!
I have Win XP SP2 with automatic update.
I tried to update the Definition 1.14.1408.8 for Windows Defender Beta
(KB915597) but the update was not completed and the err.code was 0x26B1.
I have stopped the firewall (I use Kerio) but notting changed, I red that
even uninstalling and reinstalling things do not change.
Could someone help me? thanks.

Can you go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and apply all offered
updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature
update with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.

WD v. 1.1.1347.0
Engine v. 1.1.1372.0
Signature v. 1.14.1408.8

If you are up to date with Windows Update, please follow KB 915105 as the
next step:

I went in the Windows Update and after the automatic scan only the Definition
Update for WD was offered. I tried but it failed. I went in the "customised
update" and the same update for WD was shown as High Priority.
I have controlled in the "about WD" and the situation is the following:
WD Version 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version 1.1.1303.0
Signature Version 1.14.1395.2
Then I followed the steps in KB915105 but no change!
Thanks Angel for your help.

Thank you Angel!
I have installed the new version 1347 of Windows Defender and it seems to
work, in fact the Signature version was updated to the 1,14,1408.8 without
any problem.
Thanks a lot, ciao
