WD problem 0x8007064c and strange Win updates

I downloaded and installed WD and when I try to check for updates this is
what I get:

"Windows Defender was unable to complete the update : 0x8007064c.The
installation source for

this product is not available.Verify that the source exists and that you can
access it."
Plus if I go to (Microsoft update) and review my Update History I see that
I have the

"Definition Update 1.13.1276.16 for BETA Windows Defender (KB892519)"
automatically updated 23 times!!!!!
Any ideas what is happening ??

O/S Win XP SP2 fully updated (Feb 2006) on a PIII 1.O3 Ghz PC
WD Version:1.1.1051.0
Engine version:1.1.1185.0
Signature version:1.0.0.0

P.S. I have un- and re-installed WD2 three or four times (cleaned
history,cookies etc..) but nothing seems to work
