I am working with a 12 page document, and i have to place a watermark on one
page only. Is there a way to prevent the whole document from having the
watermark?

I tried using a next page section break and it still shows the watermark on
all the pages. Does the next page sectoin break have to be before I apply the
watermark before or after the nex page section break, and does it have to be

Insert the next page section break before the page where you want the
watermark. Because watermarks are usually embedded in a header, on the page
where you have the watermark, click on View | Header and Footer and click the
Same as Previous button on your Header and Footer toollbar to unlink from the
previous header and see if that doesn't help you.

Although you can insert section breaks and remove the watermark from the
irrelevant pages as Carol suggests, in a case where you want it on a single
page (unless it's the first page of the document or a section), it's
probably easier to anchor the watermark to a paragraph on the page instead
of the header.

You could use a section break solution as Carol describes, or you can simply
insert the graphic with its layout set to 'behind text' on the required
page, when you have finished editing the document. A watermark is simply a
(usually pale) graphic inserted as a background image. It is normally
inserted in the header view as watermarks are usually required to repeat on
each page - but they don't have to be.
If you later need to select a background image, you can do so using the
white arrow selector on the drawing toolbar.
