A week ago I installed all of MS update patches for W2K. So far only
one program wouldn't work. (Keeping fingers crossed). However, I did
notice that when viewing a list, such as in Download.com's list of new
files that when I'd click the right slider frame to move down a page
it would move down two pages. This only happened if I clicked when
the cursor was very near the bottom of the slider frame. Worked fine
if I'd click near the movable slider button. After much screwing
around, fortunately I had a disk image which did not contain the
patches, I determined that the culprit was KB824145 IE6 SP1. I tried
the whole procedure twice and every time this patch was installed the
the same thing happened.
Any thoughts?

Another example of "Chaos and Complex Systems" in a computing platform.

Hi

Microsoft is aware of this scroll problem with KB824145 and looking into it...

Why not use the December 2003 Cumulative update? I think that one is better.

Hi

There is no December 2003 Cumulative update. KB824145 (released in November) is currently the
latest IE update available.

Dang I been applying that for the last month or so. Oh well November it is then.
