Unable to Delete Temporary Internet Files Content.IE5 folder

I'm using IE6 SP1 because my OS is W2K SP4. I keep getting error messages
when trying to delete each subfolder within the Content.IE5 folder that a
specified file can't be found. It used to be simple to delete this folder
when I was running Windows 98SE. How do I delete the Content.IE5 folder so
that Windows can rebuild a new one?

Also, the TIF folder is located in the Temp folder and I'm not sure how it
was moved there. Is this the default for W2K?

Reboot in Safe Mode, then delete the whole folder.
To relocate it, click Tools/Internet Options/Browsing History/Move Folder.

I wasn't able to delete the folder in Safe Mode. I received the same
error messages. Can I go into MS-DOS mode with Windows 2000? Or is there
another way to handle this?

If your system partition uses the FAT32 file system then you can boot the
machine with a Win98 boot diskette from www.bootdisk.com in order to delete
the file. If it uses the NTFS file system then you could boot it with a Bart
PE boot CD to delete the file.

What is a Bart PE boot CD? Where does someone get one?

Google is your friend. Type the words

Bart PE boot CD

into a Google search box and you will see!

You might find it to be a bit of a daunting task to build a PE disk, you
can download one that is already built here: http://www.ubcd4win.com/

When you build a PE disk it contains what *you* want, you will decide
what to put on it. The one available at UBCD4Win is an all purpose PE disk.

I went to Bart's website and it looks like the software is only for
Windows XP.

You need a WinXP Professional CD to create a Bart PE boot CD. With this CD
you can boot any PC, regardless of its OS, and gain full access to all
flavours of FAT and NTFS file systems. You can also edit the registry of all
WinNT-based OSs.
