W2k SP4 update aborts - can't remove ism.dll

When updating my Win2k SP3 machine via Windows Update
site, it gets through the entire update and aborts at the
end saying "unable to connect metabase - failed to remove
ism.dll script mappings - setup will abort". I've been
rolling back. What's up?

I found the support artical that states you can safely
click OK and ignore this message. The SP will function
fine. (this resulted from a security patch MS made after
the SP4). The question then becomes, do I need to re-
install the later security patch. Hopefully, Update scan
will detect an inform.
