Recieved this after updating windows, Probably search for my orignal Dell 8600 deivers disk and reinstall if needed but has anyone had this problem....Vxd_SetTouchPadDisable
Either use system restore and work through the updates one at a time to locate which one has caused the problem. Then restore again and avoid that update.
Alternatively uninstall the touchpad driver and restart. Believe it or not i've done this in the past to resolve the issue of it flinging the cursor around the screen and found the touchpad itself works fine afterwards. Think it uses a generic driver to replace it.
Thanks MattM that was another the line of my thinking but as always looking for easier fix, tis the nature of the animal
