Visual Preference for Login Styles

This question may sound a little odd (and unimportant) but it's driving me mad. On my work laptop and my old PC I used to have XP set up so when you first log in you are shown the welcome screen, but when you lock the workstation it shows the old Win 2000 'This computer has been locked...' window.

I've forgotten how I did this. For some reason I either get the welcome screen at boot and when locked, or the old Win 2000 window. Does anyone know? I know it's possible as I've done it before and it works on the laptop I'm using now.

Inthe user control pannel, selcect
Change the way users log on and off
select use the welcome screen
but dont select fast user switching.
