Vista x32 or x64?

Hi,
I am about to purchase a new PC and it seems most have x64 bit double
processors, but most suppliers offer them with Vista x32. Would it not be
better to buy with Vista x64? Will the x32 version utilise both processors
or will one be redundant?

Thanks in advance,
David

both 32 and 64 bit versions use the multiple cores...

it is ONE physical CPU with many cores....

it does not count as many physical CPUs

they are giving 32 bit because there are more drivers for it now

alot of old programs don't run on x64 yet including microsoft onecare which
is a very good pc protection program. you'll be alot happier with the 32 bit
vista right now. there's no advantage to running the 64 bit one if you
cannot run older programs. i've tried the 64 bit vista and wound up going
back to 32 bit after 1 month.

Hi,

Even though the latest machines comes with 64bit edition. Windows vista is available in both the versions. but the rest of the applications is not compatible with x64 bit, they are all in x32bit version,so you can better go with Windows Vista x34 bit version, even if it's a x32bit version it uses both the core's available with the microprocessor, i mean the dual core Processors.

Regards,
Boopathi.
