Vista x64

I don't see any vendors, such as Staples, Office Depot, Circuit
City...selling a 64 bit version of Vista. Is it not out yet? It was my
understanding that this would be a separate product. I was hoping both x32
and x64 would be on the same DVD but I was told differently here. So why
don't I see the x64 versions for sale?

if you choose OEM copies you can get them directly and choose wether you
want x86 or x64. Most onlineshops and ebay traders have both in stock.

If you buy the Retail Full package of Ultimate there you will find both x86
and x64 in it.

For Retail other than Ultimate it is said that only included is x86 but a
coupon to order x64 for package and shipping cost.

Ultimate editions have x86 and x64 inbox. Other editions have instructions
for requesting the x64 dvd. There are no separate retail boxes for x86 and
x64. They are all just Vista. They are not on the same dvd because they
would not fit and because x64 needs to boot the computer and run a 64bit
version of Setup (in most scenarios).

That's very annoying to say the least. I don't need ultimate because imo it's
full of stuff that people don't need. Home premium is the best bang for the
buck. But then again - I don't want to wait weeks after I make my purchase to
get x64.

Is x64 home premium available for download? If I buy home premium cd and
then install it and then order my x64 version can I then upgrade from x86 to
x64 without losing everything or do I need to format?

Thanks. It looks like we have been giving the right info the last few
weeks. I'm starting to feel better about our extrapolations on Darrell's
brief info.
