x32 vs x64

In general, am I going to notice the difference in performance running Vista
x32 or x64? I know a server will work better/faster with x64, but how about
a notebook, or desktop PC? Why would I want to run one over the other?

I'm currently running Vista Ent x64 on both a notebook and desktop and I'd
have to say I'm generally unimpressed. And with the difficulty of finding
drivers in x64, I'm wondering if it's worth it? Just looking for feedback
to see what other think, or have found.

Thanks, Andre

With less than 3-4gb of RAM or x64 specific applications, your conclusion is
correct. There is very little that x64 offers except for some future
proofing and driver aggravation.

Vista 64-bit offers no compelling reason to use it unless you either have
64-bit software to run on it or need to support more than 3gb of memory for
use by Windows and software running under it.
