VISTA video input

The following choices come up in VISTA when inputting video from a Sony
digital camcorder,
1) audio video interleaved (single file)
2) windows media video (single file)
3) windows media video(one file per scene)
Also when I input video from Sony digital camcorder using #1 above, many of
the "clips"contain more than one "clip. I used #1 above. Could this be the
problem?

If you do not want clips to be split into
smaller segments...try unchecking the box
"Create clips for video files"
on the Movie Maker Import File screen.

John, I'm sorry, I didn't make my self clear. I do want the video split into
the smallest possible segments. ( I will make sure that the "Create clips for
video files" is checked.)
Can you tell me what each of the 3 choices listed below does?

You said..."Could this be the problem?"

What problem are you referring to?

As for the 3 choices...

Here's my guess.....

1) audio video interleaved (single file)
Creates an .avi file<

2) windows media video (single file)
Creates a .wmv file<

3) windows media video (one file per scene)
Creates one .wmv file per scene<

John, Thanks for defining the "3 choices".
My problem is several scenes were contained in a single file when I used
"#1".I would like to have only 1 scene per file. Looks like I should use
#3. Will try #3 next editing secession.
Thanks,
RR

You're welcome.

Left us know if #3 works as expected.
