The chicks - like other birds - breathe, too - don't they?

So?

I was asking a question... It must not be very good if you aren't willing
to answer it...

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've had superb and free support
when I've needed to know how to do something or change something or
install something on Ubuntu. I'm not sure how good tech-support is
because I've never needed it.

Microsoft support is just about unobtainable on this side of the pond,
but I have had a lot of help for Microsoft products from the various
forums/groups over the years.

Hey, I was only asking a question, too. But you don't seem willing to
answer it...

Besides telephone support, knowledge base, user forums, resellers, oems and
the plethora of microsoft partners and engineers?

Very good support, actually.

Eh? Could you provide some details on that?
What's the toll free number for Ubuntu tech support?
Where's the online forum?

Does Ubuntu run all my games that run on Windows, or is it strictly for
basic business apps?

It won't even do that! I tried OpenOffice once and it's seriously
lacking. Linux is for people that like to dink around trying to figure
out how to make things work.

I don't use their paid tech support so I couldn't tell you.
Where's the online forum?

They have both a mailing list and a web forum. Both are community-based
tech support just as this newsgroup is. But they have VERY knowledgable
peple participating.

No but it will run some of them via Wine or Cedega and a few natively
or is it strictly for basic business apps?

I don't know of any Linux distro that's "strictly for basic business apps".

BTW, there are a number of Linux games that are Linux-only.

I'm not a gamer. I find them childish, but I know all this from having
used Linux for a number of years.

BTW, there are plenty of Windows geeks out there who do far more with
their boxes than the vast majority of users. To a certain degree, I'm
one of them. The same goes for Linux.

Once again, I feel like an alien. I like both.

As Rodney King once said...

"Can't we all just get along?"

It won't even do that! I tried OpenOffice [sic] once and it's seriously
lacking.

As compared to what? BTW, OpenOffice.org is cross-platform and it has a
significant Windows user base. I'd say it's comparable to Office 2000.
Yes that's dated, but considering the app is free and considering that
the vast majority of people don't *need* any more than that, it's a hell
of a deal.

Kind of like Windows Vista eh?
