Hi Guys, looking for some help. I have an Advent laptop that runs on Vista have been happily using the internet connected through a wireless Netgear router. My son was using the laptop last evening and now I am no longer able to connect to the internet. The little network icon on the lower right tray shows a cross through and says not connected, when i right click the icon and click connect to network i get the message windows cannot find any networks when i click diagnose it says windows cannot find any wireless netwrks in range. Have tried the wireless switch and that is on. as anyone any ideas please.

Have you asked your Son if he changed or deleted any programs or software?

Have you tried clicking on Diagnose and Repair? That often gives you some clues and sometimes even sorts out the problem.

I assume that the router is still switched on and transmitting a signal.

When something like that happens to me, I just hit the refresh button over and over, and it usually works.
