Vista and virus software

NOD32 - and it's excellent! I used to use Norton but gave up with that when
I moved to XP 64 bit. I initially tried Avast but wasn't impressed and the
more lab tests I read on it the more I looked for an alternative and crunch
time came when Avast allowed 2 viruses onto my system and warned me that
they were there after the fact - very helpful. Anyway, NOD32 has been
faultless for me and the price is a very small one to pay to prevent me
having to reformat.

Avast. It's free for personal use, as well.

I'd avoid McAfee based on what I've been reading.

Grisoft AVG is free and works great.

as I have emailed you earlier, you can opt for different antivirus in
www.toptenreviews.com in the software section

personally I use Grisoft AVG Internet Security 7.5 after switching from
Symantec Norton Internet Security 2007 (man, that really slows your PC down)

As far as I know Avast (www.avast.com) anti virus works okay with Vista. I
wouldn't touch Norton or Mcafee I've never found them much good.

Avast also has a free version which is more than adequate.

I did try the free version of AVG, but problems with Windows Mail which I
think were down to AVG caused me to try Avast - no problems since then.

McAfee sucks, Norton sucks, AVG works, Avast works.

Do a search in this group and you will see that people think Norton and
McAfee sucks.

I have Norton Internet Security 2007 running on Vista Ultimate. Works just
fine no problems.

Retail... Yes.

Coporate/Enterprise... NO !

I am using Kaspersky antivirus since almost a month, and it works well. Not
slowing down as some others AV that I used with my XP. I will purchase it now.
OS = Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

To be fair, the question wasn't about our opinion of them but whether or not
they work. And both those vendors have Vista compatible software available.

Kaspersky is the *best* of all the vendors mentioned in this thread.
