Vista does not see Anti Virus Software

Hi there.

Vista Ultimate and so far very happy.

Starting ±3 days ago, Vista does not see my AVG Anti Virus Software. Upon
booting, I get the now familiar red cross from the security center telling
me that I have no Anti Virus Software installed. Windows Defender also is
turned of and I cannot get it on.

Is there anyone else who are/have been experiencing the same thing?
How can I fix this? I really don't want to format and re-install Vista from
scratch.

I have already un-installed and re-installed AVG withou any success.

Thank you very much!

I'm using Avast! which is both Vista compatable & freeeeeeeeeeeee!

AVG is also free. I thought it is Vista compatable. Everything worked
fine for at least 10 days untill now.

Some malware infections are able to turn off AV and firewalls. Try scanning
for infections with an online AV. Panda, Trend Micro, Kaspersky, Symantec
and McAffee have free online scanners. Not all will actually clean
infections they find.
