Viewing a .php page in design and preview mode

Heather

I am unable to view my pages created with the .php extension in design or
preview mode. There are no options along the bottom of the page for that.

I have to open my .php page and save it as an .htm - make my changes and
resave as .php

My technician who has Frontpage 2000 has the options to see the page in
design and preview.

What am I doing wrong? Or what settings do I need to change? Help! These
are files I work with on a daily basis and it's getting old quickly.

You have a web / site open on a web server in FP (http) and the web server must have PHP engine
installed. FP must be configured to open .php files under Configure Editors.

I am not on my old machine with FP2k on it, so I can only do this by
recollection...

I believe what you need to do is to use the application options to set up
the editors- I believe it will be telling FP to use FP as the editor, as
HTML
