FP03 & PHP - need help with editing

R

Richard Bell

Newbie trying to use FP 2003 to work on PHP pages.

If I create a new page with an HTM or HTML extension, or open a page
with an HTM or HTML extension and edit it with FP03 I have access to
Design, Split, and Preview modes.

If I rename the page to .PHP I still have access. Even if the page
does not have a complete or correct set of HTML (ex. no head, ...) the
design, split, and preview still work usefully.

If I save and close the .PHP page and then reopen I loose access to
the Design, Split, and Preview modes. This is unuseful.

What I'd like is access to the Design, Split and Preview modes when
working with file extensions of my choice (as in, for example, php).

Can this be done? How?

Easy Fix!! If you check the link in my signature you'll see that I've spent
a lot of time with FrontPage and php. ;-)

here's how:
tools/ options/ configure editors. find PHP on the left of the dialog box
and then on the right side select (or set) to use FrontPage as the editor
and open as html (as default).
