Videos not playing in IE

While watching a video on the MSN site, I got a very rare for Win XP SP 2
"blue screen". After rebooting, I have not been able to wtach videos at the
MSN or CNN sites. On MSN, it seems like one video is trying to load after
the other very rapidly, without anything ever being loaded. It seems like IE
does not recognize some "time tag" (but this is a completely uneducated
diagnosis). I have followed all MSN's instructions to fix the problem but to
no avail (including installing IE 7beta and then going back to IE 6). Any
ideas what the problem is and what I can do? Thanks,

First thing I would try would be to reinstall Windows Media Player:

Thanks for the suggestion - it was one of the first things I tried (I
downloaded newest version - 10) but didn't solve the problem.

Problems with the CNN video feed were throwing me also despite my machine
having all the latest patches and doing a reinstallation of Windows Media
Player 10. Apparently it's a conflict with the Real Player. Here's what

Thank you so much! This fixed the problem both on MSN and CNN! I thought it
would never get fixed, I had tried everything!
