Video and sound card

I'd like to know if those 2 following elements come built in with a computer
or if I have to buy them separately:
1. Video card with 24-bit resolution capability and DirectX® support.
2. Windows® compatible sound card that supports 48KHz playback. DirectX
9.0b.

I have a laptop Vaio VGN-T270P. Where should I look to see if I have them?
I looked in the device manager and saw that I had:
1. Legacy video capture devices and
2. Soundmax integrated digital audio

Motherboards will come from various manufacturers with built in audio or
video or both. Specifications will also vary by manufacturer.

Do your own research at Intel, Asus, Abit, MSI, etc to determine what comes
with what. Search Google - motherboards.
