Running XP with latest updates.
I suddenly have no sound. The only sound that I hear is when there is an
error in which case I hear a loud beep.
a) when I open "Sounds and Audio Devices", under volume tab I see "No audio
device"
b) under the Hardware tab: all the devices are shown to be working properly.
They consist of
1. the DVD/CD
2. Realtek High Definition Audio
3. Tunebite High Speed dubbing
4. Audio Codecs
5. Legacy audio drivers
6. Media control Devices
7 and 8 are video devices and codecs
I used to have sound. What could be wrong?
