For the last couple of days, my printer (a Deskjet) will pontaneously start
printing blank pages! I am not doing ANYTHING that could be prompting this.
Is this something from within XP? A virus, or should I be asking on the
printer forums about this phenomenon. I feel like I have a literal ghost in
the machine! Thanks for any thoughts!

Certainly there are viruses that will affect printing. The best way to
determine if your computer is infected is to scan with a current
antivirus using updated definitions.

I have this happen sometimes. Turn off the printer, uplug the main power
to the printer(I usually unplug the power coming into the back of it,
it's in arms reach). Open up the printer icon in the tray and see if
there are any projects waiting to be printed. Right click and cancel
them if there are. Let the power stay off the printer for about
10minutes or more. Sometimes the memory gets confused(my guess)and it
will clear any of this. Turn off the computer for a bit, plug the
printer back in, power up the printer then restart the computer. Hope
this works....johnny
