It has taken over an hour to install Window XP home....so
far. The counter started at 39 minutes and is now down
to 36. I've had numerous problems with this
install...clean install...from the start. New hard
drive. System ran XP fine prior to the HD replacement.
Past codes were Error code 4 and Error code 14.
Please help

Are you sure you have the hard drive configured correctly? Did you use the
correct HD cables?

I believe the hard drive is configured correctly. I
used the XP home upgrade disk to format (NTFS) and
partion it. I hope this is all it took. The cable is
the same one I used with my last hard drive......the same
one that was in place. I'm now at 23 minutes left after
2 full hours.

Change the hard drive cable to the one supplied with the new hard drive.
