VB .Net licensing for micro businesses

Hi,

After looking up Microsoft's site for licensing info...and found nothing,
I turn to this newsgroup.

Does someone know what version of VB .Net you are entitled to use when you
are
a micro business? I think I can't buy a VB .Net standard package but I'm not
sure about
it.

Also if I buy VB .Net Enterprise, how many licenses come with this, one
only? Is it the same as
SQL Server where you get 5 licenses automatically?

Thanks

Thank you very much to all for such expeditive responses and valuable info.

But there's one thing I still don't understand. Since I won't be using the
software as
an individual (I'll be charging for the code I develop!), can I still use
the .Net framework without paying anything ? Sounds really strange to me!

I agree to the fact that I don't need the IDE to develop VB .Net and C# code
but as -Craig- was saying, what will I do if I can't create screens and
stuff? You know console VB .Net and C# applications are not really in
vogue...j/k :)

Thanks!

François,
Its been a while since I read the license to .NET, it does allow you to sell
programs that use the Framework, as you are not selling the Framework, you
are selling YOUR program. The Framework itself requires that whoever buys
YOUR program has a valid license to .NET, which the way I read it means they
need a valid Windows OS license.

Of course this does not include Mono the open source version of the
Framework. Which can run on Linux & does not require a MS Windows OS
license.

Hope this helps
Jay
