We have a very large enterprise type of application developed in VB.NET, SQL
Server, RS 2005, using win forms and web forms. We are a major international
company with 200+ divisions around the world.
We are looking to have a small number of these divisions begin implementing
this software we have developed at our division. First step is to have each
of the divisions interested to evaluate the software. Now without doing a
full blown implementation at each site (which could take 2 weeks or more) we
are thinking of sending those divisions interested in evaluating the product
a VMWare image containing XP, IIS, SQL Server 2005 (with Reporting Services),
and the custom developed software. This would be runable and useable without
any installation or custom configurations.
This would be self contained image and only used for evaluation. I cannot
find anything on the internet site as to licensing terms in this scenario.
My initial thoughts is we go through with this ignoring licensing, each
division has many of these licenses already in their production enviroment
and probably have many free licenses available (although I cannot guarantee
this).
Is it enough to say that anyone evaluating it must have available XP (or
SQL/RS) licenses in order to use this image, and the division would use their
discretion?

this is probably not the best place to post this messag but I cannot see any
