utility to splice picture?

G

hello, everyone. i cannot, to save my life, remember the tool or utility
that will allow me to take a picture and splice it in however many pieces so
that they are "put back" together as one on the screen.

i can only vaguely remember that it may have been related to front page. i
can't even remember if it is ms-related or if it's a 3rd party utility.

i used it perhaps 6-7 years ago, but never found a real 'good use' for it.
now, i do. but, i cannot remember what that utility is. all i know is that
it exists!

i thought perhaps it may have been 'ms image composer', but i just checked
and i couldn't find it anywhere. i have version 1.5 and running fp2002.

please help. thanks so much!

i wanted to add that each "section" of the whole photo is indeed a separate
file.
Some of the software that comes with digital camera's has this feature, and
Canon is one of them.

Sounds like FrontFX's Picture Splitter, try a google search.

thanks for the info! could you give me the name of the sw? i have the
canon powershot g2 which, admittedly, i got eons ago, so mine might not have
come with it. i got the Photostitch and PhotoRecord with the zoombrowser
(which i don't use, so that may be the one you're talking about) & raw
converter. thanks again!. it's much appreciated.

There used to be something called "SlicenDice" (or maybe SlicerDicer).

With it, you opened an image, set some "rules lines" on the image, and
pressed "GO"

It would chop up the image and create an HTML table to hold them aligned.

From there, you could remove parts to create your template.

That program has been rendered pretty much obsolete now though, as most
image editing programs (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc.) have that type of
functionality built in.
