Hi all,

I'm looking to use windows 3.1 on my laptop. It currently
has windows xp on it. Can anyone point me to a site to
get me started?

Thanks,
Andy

Do a Google for "dual boot"+"Windows 3.1"+"Windows XP"

You will need at least two partitions, one FAT16 to run W3.1
and one for XP using either FAT 32 or NTFS. You will
basically need to create the FAT 16 formatted partition and
install W 3.1 on it. Then you will install XP, it will
detect the W3.1 OS and ask what you want to do. You select
install and the system will create a boot menu and install
XP on the partition you select.
When you start the computer the boot menu will ask which OS
you want to load.

Are you a history buff? W 3.1 is very old, if you're going
to dual boot, why not W98?

You might find that you need Partition Magic in order to
create the new partitions you need and/or you might want to
buy a drive.

Not to mention the issues in finding proper driver support for the laptop
under Win3.1........Laptops are finicky enough as it is.

You can also install Virtual PC and set up Windows 3.1 that way as well,
