Using Media Player to play hyperlink sounds

Thanks Earl, but is there no easier way to get Excel to use an externa
player such as media player to play a sound when you click on
hyperlink

I think this has to do with the program that's playing the sound. That's
determined by the Windows association for the file type (mp3, wav, etc.)
that is the hyperlink target. You could change that to Media Player (though
other applications will eventually hijack it). To change that, open a
folder, Tools - Folder options - File Types tab.

I don't know why your reply isn't a reply to mine. This seems to happen
with web-based forums that tie into the newsgroup. It makes for incorrect
threads.
