User Log On

In User Accounts, when I try to change from the setup where one has to enter a username and password to simply picking a username on the welcome screen, I get a message that a recently installed program has disabled the ability to switch between these two options and I can't pick either one. The message also says the file CSGina.dll might help identify the offending program. That file is in C:\Windows\System32, but I can't find out what program it is associated with. Can you help?

Thanks.

This may be due to a networking software (Cisco VPN client or other) installed. It modifies the GinaDLL entry in registry and disables FUS and Welcome Screen.

Use MVP Doug Knox's utility to fix the Welcome screen.

[Fix Logon/Restore Welcome Screen]. This should reset the default GINA in registry.

[ After you do so, Windows uses the default Graphical Identification and Authentication file (Msgina.dll)]
