Logging On

Hi, I have recently built a PC and installed Win XP SP2 and all the drivers
required for my hardware, but I cannot activate 'Use the Welcome Screen' or
'Use Fast User Switching'.
When I click on 'Change the users log on and off' I get an message that reads:
'A recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User
Switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program. The
following file might help you identify the program that made the change:
MrvGINA.dll'

I know that this file is Marvell(R) Wireless Client Card GINA Component.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

See if there is something in the configuration utility for your wireless
card to not have it start before you log on. If not, one option is to
uninstall the utility.

You could try manually removing the gina component from the logon string,
but this is potentially risky. An incorrect value in the gina dll key in
the registry will make it impossible for you to log into your machine, even
in safe mode. This info is stored in the registry at
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon [GinaDLL].
Change the value of GinaDLL to msgina.dll. Make sure you export the key
first in case you need to restore the current gina dll. Reboot and see if
that makes a difference.
