Help. My system went hay wire and now when it boots up I get this message:
Windows can not load profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile.
Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

Then: insufficient security right or corrupt local profile.

What are my options? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your user profile is corrupted. Make a new user profile from the User
Accounts applet in Control Panel. Use it for a bit. If it works OK,
then copy over your data from the old user profile. I don't suggest
copying the settings from a corrupted account.

To find the data on your old account, in Windows Explorer, click Tools,
click Folder Options, click the View tab, click Show hidden files and
folders, click to clear the Hide protected operating system files check
box, and then click OK. Then locate the C:\Documents and
Settings\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive on which Windows XP
is installed, and Old_Username is the name of your old user profile.

Sounds like a corrupted profile. Create a new one and use it. If no
problems develop copy the data from the old profile to the new, then
delete the old.
