Use Sendto to send to the location of that which is accessed?

I am not sure how to express what I want to do in the subject but here is
what I'd like to do. I can select a file that is an archive. If I SendTo
that file I selected to the program which can extract the file it wants to
extract the file to the location of the program itself. I would prefer the
program to extact the contents to the location of the file I am extracting.
For example:

I choose a mp3 which is an archive and I SendTo the extraction program
located under C:\Program Files but the mp3 is in C:\hold. The extraction
program wants to send the contents to the folder where it is located under
C:\Program Files. But I would prefer it send the contents to C:\hold. I
tried to change the Start in location of the SendTo shortcut to empty but
then it wants to send the contents to C drive not C:\hold. So is there an
environment variable that is the location of the currently selected file?
That would work I think.

Send to the Desired folder, OR drag and drop in the desired folder. OR
configure the "extractor" to have the desired folder as the default setting.

Send to the Desired folder,

No it has to be sent to the extractor as that is what I am trying to do
extract the contents of the selected file.
OR drag and drop in the desired folder.

Uhm the mp3 is already in the desired folder
OR configure the "extractor" to have the desired folder as the default
setting.

I wish but the extractor has no options to do anything. It is very
primitive. Heck the window of the extractor cannot even be resized. It is
what you would call Menu bar\Options challenged. It has no options to do
anything. It does have an Open option (called Extract mp3) but that's it.
Not even an Exit or Cancel. Must click the upper-right X to exit. Very
primitive.

So no Environment variable that is the location of a selected file? I
believe that is the only way to achieve what I want which I would put in the
Start in of the shortcut in the SendTo.

I'm confused! If the MP3 is already in the folder why would you have to
"extract" it?!?!?

Well because it is a psuedo mp3. It is actually an mp3 archive. It is quite
interesting. You can do the same thing with a rar file. What you do is rar
a collection of mp3s as store only. Then you can change or append a mp3
extension to it. WinAmp can play these just like a normal mp3. WMP cannot.

These things are called ALBW mp3s. And the extractor is called an ALBW
extractor. WinAmp can play these ALBW mp3 files WMP cannot.

Since the Windows side of things uses the extension to provide direction
for the "behind the scenes" features you want to use, you will need to
figure out what you want to do and then change the extensions to allow
the "intended handlers" to work. You may also have to change your file
management scheme if this "extractor" doesn't allow for command line
parameters.

Not sure what you mean by "file management scheme." Right now I can select
a ALBW mp3 and SendTo the extractor. That works just fine. Trouble is it
wants tio extract to the location of the program in C:\Program Files\ALBW
Extractor. I can always browse to the location I want to go to and of
course set Start in to My Documents. But I was hoping there was some sort
of Environment Variable that either I could make or already exists that
would have value "Folder of Currently selected File." Well now thatr I
think of it this looks like a request better asked elsewhere. Thanks
though.
