How to send a shortcut to an sendto item other than Desktop

Sendto Desktop allows creating shortcut of any item on Desktop.

I have a folder 'Read Later' which I want to keep on taskbar for later
reading. I want to send shortcut of files to this folder. I have
created a short cut of this folder in SendTo folder but file gets
copied rather a shortcut when I do right-click-.Send To-> Read Later .

any suggestions?

If you don't mind a two-stage operation, then right-click the file and
use "Create Shortcut", then right-click that shortcut and send to Read
Later
