I am new (I mean REALLY new) in this newsgroup.

When I want to "Reply Group" I can write the reply, but when I send it, I
get an empty dialog box (at least I suspect it is !) which stays there
"forever". I just can close it and of course the reply is not sent.

When I "Reply to Sender" the message is apparently sent, but after a while I
receive an error message telling more or less that the mail server does not
exist.

What or how should I do ? Do I have to somehow register to be able to "Reply
Group" ?

You might want to ask your question in the Outlok Express Newsgroup

First of all, welcome. Second, what program are you using to participate in
the NG? Are you using the web interface or a news reader like Outlook
Express?

It may have to do with something in your settings. Go to Tools > Accounts >
News and highlight the news account msnews.microsoft.com and click on
Properties. What do you have set under the Server, Connection, and Advanced
tabs?

Hi Jean-Pierre,

Reply to Sender is usually not the thing to do.

That sends a private email message rather than a newsgroup reply. That's not
usually what people want, and because they don't want private replies and want
to avoid getting their email addresses harvested by spammers, many will supply
a fake email address in their OE settings for the group ... that would explain
why you're unable to reply to Sender. You might want to do the same thing, by
the way - posting under a real email address is more or less asking to be
spammed. ;-)

As others have suggested, the OE newsgroup might be the best place to find out
what settings you need to change, etc.
