USB Mass Storage - Data Invalid message when installing driver

Guest

I just replaced my hardfile on a Dell Dimension 4300 (P4
1.6Ghz) and reloaded XP Home with all the latest service
updates, including SP1

Other than upgrading the hardfile, there were no hardware
changes and the USB 1.1 mass storage device(s) worked
fine. After reloading the OS and patches I am unable to
use the USB mass storage devices. Other USB devices, suc
as printer work fine

When I went go to use a USB 1.1 mass storage device, I get
the "New Hardware Found" screen, and the system searches
for the driver. When the system tries to install the
driver, I get the message "Unable to install driver - Data
Invalid" message

Any suggestions how to fix the problem
