I'm using WinXP on a PC with USB 1 and I keep getting the pop up from
windows that says "THIS DEVICE CAN PERFORM FASTER....BLAH BLAH BLAH FOR MORE
INFORMATION CLICK HERE"

This intereferes with the operation of the device. How do I get windows to
stop it?

In Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus, right click on your Host
Controller and select Properties. Select the Advanced tab. At the bottom,
check the box not to report USB errors.

Note: In addition to turning off the USB error message you do not like, all
other USB error messages will also be turned off. In the future if you are
having problems with your USB devices, clear this box and check for
additional error messages. Normally, you should not have any problem with
turning off all of the USB error messages.
