USB device driver problem

Hi all,

I have purchased an usb SD card reader/writer from ebay and the seller
didn't include the driver, does anyone know how to find out the driver
for the device?

The seller doesn't care, so don't suggest asking him...

When I plugged in my card reader, it just says "USB Reader/Writer",
doesn't really say what chipset or manufactuer... any solutions?

Many thx

How much did you pay for this, Wal-Mart sells the Lexar USB
2.0 Multireader for about $28.
XP should have drivers for generic card readers, it should
work with your reader without any special drivers. To use
the reader on a W98 machine Lexar does provide a CD. You
can find such drivers on-line.

All devices should have a FCC registration number on the
label, do a Google.

If you are using XP, no driver is required. Just plug in
a memory card and you will see a folder when you open the
drive letter for the slot containing the card. My card
reader shows up as drive letters. The CD I received with
it only added cute little ICONs for the slot/card types.
They are only active (Icon visable) when a card is
plugged in. U didn't say who makes your reader.
