USB card reader problem

I have several different brands of USB Compact flash readers of which
none will now download pics to a desktop folder. When a card is put
into one of them a indicator on the reader will do some flashing but
that's it. I go to My Computer and NO additional drives show. In
checking device manager it shows a # of USB controllers. I plug the
reader into the port the printer is in and it still won't work.
I have all SP2 updates installed, it did work until about a week or 2
ago with SP2 which has been installed for 6-7 weeks. Plenty of memory
and 250G HD space, mostly unused so far. This is a recent HD install
of about a month, but had been working OK until this showed up.
I tried the small "old" drive, also with SP2 and ALL card readers
worked without a hitch. Any fix suggestions?? TYIA

The USB HUB devices probably have corrupt drivers.

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the device(s), Action
menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers again
automatically.
