Card Reader

In addition to my hard drive and a DVD-CD drive, I have a card reader. When
I click on "My Computer" under the name of the card reader (which shows up
as "Compact Flash") is a small red square. Does anyone know what this
square means? Thanks.

Not really sure but have a few guesses ... is there a card in the memory
slot .. and if so ... is the memory card locked ? (on an SD memory card
there is a small switch on the left to lock it like an old floppy had)

Thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't seem to be the problem.
