I just downloaded driver updates for my scanner. Windows
still isn't recognizing the hardware. Scanner test says
to re-select MS-USB to refresh USB bus. How do I do this?

Make sure the USB is turned on in the bios settings.

Unisntall the drivers, unplug the device from USB, install the
drivers, then plug in the scanner.

I've had more luck doing it this way:

Unplug the device, Uninstall the drivers, reboot, install the drivers, reboot, plug in device.
