I've seen some replies on this, but I'd just like to have some points
clarified. I intend to upgrade the mobo and other associated components on
my PC thats running XP SP2. However, I only have a CD with SP1a (its about
3.5 years old), so I can't run the procedure detailed in KB 824125 without
the "windows cannot continue with this process..." message appearing when I
have to prepare the HDD for transfer onto the new machine.
Should I run one of the so-called slipstreaming processes? I'd prefer not
to lose all my currently installed programs out of the registry (a lot of
games and other software) in the process.
Any help would be much appreciated.
