Hello,

To install XP, do I just install it as normal if I am
running W2K? or do I have to do something else with W2K
first? When I install XP over W2K do I have to backup all
my files that are currently in W2K? Do the files in W2K
get deleted when installing XP? Thanks in advance!

Boot to the xp cd and follow the onscreen instructions. Choose to either do
an upgrade install, which keeps your files, or a clean install that deletes
your files and starts xp install clean(recommended).

While it is *sensible* to do a backup in any case, just in case (eg a
power failure at a critical moment) you should retain installed software
and data files if you run the XP retail (not OEM) Upgrade CD of XP from
the present system, enter Install and continue with Upgrade as offered.
(You *could* use a full retail CD too, but that would be a waste of
money)
