I have Win98 now and want to go to Win2000 on my home computer. When I buy
the new operation system, do I buy one that says "upgrade" or what? I feel
kind of dense for asking, but every computer I've bought has had the
operating system already on it and I've never had to upgrade to anything
newer before.
Thanks for any help.

Buy an upgrade version and keep your Win98 CD. You'll need it every time you
install Windows 2000.

And run the upgrade checker *prior* to upgrading
After any upgrade you will undoubtably need to upgrade hardware drivers
Do NOT use winupdate drivers use manu.drivers only

Thanks to both of you - I appreciate the information.
