After a problematical upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro
which hangs during the upgrade process requiring reboots
to proceed and then finally permanently hangs during the
final temp file cleanup.
Upon login I get a "Windows Product Activation" window
with the following message
"A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking
the license for this computer. Error Code 0x80004005"
clicking the ok box returns you to the login screen for a
repeat of the above. Is there any way to get past this
or alternatively to at least access the hard drive for
some files that weren't backed up before the upgrade
process?
