Upgrade XP Home to Pro

Richard

I've got Home sp2 loaded, need to upgrade to pro. Bought the upgrade version
of XP pro, but it won't provide the upgrade option when starting up - it goes
directly into the clean install procedure. The pro cd does have sp2. So,
since it isn't a retail vs oem issue, and it isn't a sp level issue, what
else is there that would prevent the pro upgrade CD from allowing an upgrade?

You must begin the upgrade while at your XP Home desktop....
do not boot from the CD.

Hi Richard,

You can use a Windows XP Pro upgrade disk to perform a clean install. Simply
insert a FULL version of Win 98SE, Win ME or Win XP Home when prompted to
during the setup procedure.
