Update clients settings after print server changes

Hi All

I have a number of printers installed on a Windows 2000 print server.
The printers all use standard IP ports and are shared.

My clients connet to the printers using "Start - Run" \\servername.
They then install their printers by simply double-clicking the printers
they want to use.

I would like to change the printer defaults on all my printers on the
server to enable duplex (double-sided) printing and have all the
clients updated.

What is the best way to update all the clients once I have made the
changes on the server?

Thanks in advance.

Once you make the changes on the server the clients will get the updated
settings.

Make sure you change the preferences in the Advanced tab and not the General
tab.

Hiya

I was hoping it was going to be as simple as that when I was asked to
implement double sided printing.

That was the first thing I tried but the clients still have their
original settings.

I changed the "Finishing" details from the "Advanced - Printing
Defaults" section of the printers properties on the server. But these
settings haven't been cascaded down to any of the clients printing to
the devices.

Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong?

The applications may need to be exited and restarted in order to pick up new
default settings.
