Update backup

OK I upgraded to XP Home and I spent a long time
downloading the latest critical updates, so now how do I
backup all this info so that when my machine crashes and
I have to reload, I don't have to spend hours downloading
the updates? are the updated automatically saved
somewhere on my machine so I can back them up or were
they just added to the existing XP OS files?
Thanks.

Although they are not in a reinstallable form, they are
present redundantly so that things you do later with that
one install should not be able to wipe them out.

Since you have already done an all-in-one download
and install, just make a base restore point to which you
can revert if needed in the future.
